Last Week: Grammy and Pop Pop. Next Week: the Beach!
Our little Lulu is quite the busy bean. Grammy and Pop Pop arrived last Saturday (following the famed 10 hour drive from PA with 6 hours through the great state of Virginia!) to shower our almost-nine-month-old with hugs, kisses, adoration, and quite a few gifts. Stay tuned to Lulu’s Flickr for pictures of all of her new loot; toys, clothing (including a very interesting coat for the winter), a walker, and a high chair, to name a few. Grammy and Pop Pop also bought us a new grill for outside (and a new George Forman grill for inside), a new coffeemaker, a new surround sound receiver, new dishes… one must wonder who is more spoiled… Lulu or her parents!! Thanks Grammy and Pop Pop!
We had a great time reminiscing about their experiences raising Kelly and Uncle Mikey, watching Grammy teach Lulu “so big” and “bye bye,” hanging out at Falls Park in Greenville (even though NONE of the restaurants on Main St were open for the Labor Day holiday), and NOT stepping foot in our pool, which hovered around 70 degrees following an unseasonable chilly week prior to their arrival. There’s always next summer
It’s always hard to see the grandparents go, and this time was no exception. We’re just glad that they could visit and see the wonder that is Lulu’s continued development and maturation into a mobile, brilliant little lady.
We’d like to send along congratulations to Kelly’s cousin Jason and his wife Marissa, who recently found out that they’ve been bitten by the expectant bug
Seriously, Marissa is one of the most frequent visitors to LuluLand (this website), and we’re positively thrilled for her family as they prepare to dip their toes into the wonderful experience that is parenthood. Woo Hoo!
This weekend will be recuperative in nature… no “big doin’s” or excessive running around. Just Lulu, Kel, and I hanging out. We’re a week away from a 9-hour drive and meetup with Granny and Popsy, who invited us along to the beach (Hatteras, NC… we haven’t been to OBX since our honeymoon, when we suffered second degree sunburn and were laid up for the week as a result). It will definitely be a good time, and we can’t wait to snap all sorts of cool pictures of our little doll at the beach for the first time. Anyone care to wager the over/under on how many pounds of sand she’ll eat?
For now, this is Lulu’s dad, in need of a soft pillow:)
